What To Pack on a Fun Trip to a Water Park
Summers are all about sitting poolside, eating ice cream, and watching your kids have a good time. But, what if you could join your kids in all the fun activities and spend some quality time with them?
Going to a fun place like a water park makes you realize how smart kids are. They certainly know how to have fun. After all, the thrill of being thoroughly soaked from head to toe is incomparable!
Water parks make the ideal family fun center and the best activity parks for everyone. But, before you plan your trip, you might want to take a look at some essentials you should pack.
Here’s what you should pack on your trip to a water park:
Beach Bag
Whatever items you decide to bring, you will need something to put them all in. The expensive luxe purse you love to carry - it’s best if you leave it at home. A beach bag is what you need to bring your wallet, keys, and all other essentials. Though big beach bags would be the ideal choice, they might not fit in a locker. Something a little more pliable that can be pushed into a small space, and most importantly, water resistant, will get the job done. Also, it’s a good idea to carry a wet bag where you can slide your bathing suits and forget about them until you’re back home. This way, you won’t end up soaking everything else you have in your beach bag. You could also use large resealable plastic bags to keep your wet bathing suits away from the dry items in the beach bag. Make sure you bring enough bags to fit all the wet clothes.
Extra Clothes
Driving home in a wet swimsuit is not how you would want the perfect family fun day at the perfect fun center even if it’s near you. If you changed into your swimsuit at the park, then you only have to change back. However, if you have come wearing a bathing suit, packing some extra clothes won’t hurt a bit. Do not forget to pack an extra pair of underwear too! And bring towels if the water park does not provide them. If you’re going to take a shower at the end of the day, you might want to bring two towels for every one. Using the same towel at the end of the day is no fun!
Sunscreen
No matter what season, but especially during summers, sunscreen with high SPF and offering UVA/UVB protection is recommended. Not only should you put some before leaving home, but keep applying every 3 hours. Bring a good amount if you’re going to spend a lot of time outdoors, such as at an outdoor water park. Also pack a lip balm with at least SPF 30 protection. You might have to use more sunscreen than usual; pack accordingly to save yourself money on overpriced sunscreens available at the park.
Waterproof Camera
A family fun center like a water park is the perfect place to disengage with the Internet and engage with your loved ones. That said, you and the kids might want the world to know about your awesome trip once you’re back home. You can bring a waterproof case for your cellphone or a waterproof camera. You can keep the camera in the locker for safekeeping when you’re not using it. Ideally a waterproof case for your mobile phone would allow you to take pictures while being submerged in water; but, if you don’t know how reliable the case is, you can take the pictures standing at the edge of the pool.
Water Shoes
Some of the best fun activities at a waterpark you will enjoy barefoot. Water shoes will come in handy when you have to use the public restroom, visit the locker rooms, or get food. You will want your shoes to be anti-slip in nature, easy to put on, and comfortable. You could wear flip flops; they are definitely comfortable, but they could be slippery. So, choose your water shoes wisely!

Before you pack, before you plan all the fun, check with the water park authorities whether you’re allowed to carry your own water, snacks, cooler, and so on. In addition, you might also want to check the weather, especially if you’re visiting an outdoor adventure park near you.
